Dishes. That clean. Themselves.
Swedish design studio Tomorrow Machine has cooked up these amazing cellulose plates and dishes.
It's made out of nanocellulose - it's lightweight, flexible, and able to withstand drops from significant heights. They then added a layer of hydrophobic coating - it repels dirt and water with incredible efficiency.

The material mimics the surface of a lotus leaf to create a surface that's resistant to dirt and water.
The designers claim this will not only save resources during the manufacturing process, but also throughout its life-cycle, as it does not require water or chemicals to remain clean.
