Warning: graphic image.

The Depilex SmileAgain Foundation is a nonprofit helping acid and kerosene attack victims in Pakistan. According to their website, they do everything from provide medical treatment and reconstructive surgery to legal and job placement assistance to ongoing support help through a network of voluntary workers.

Also according to their website, young girls and women between the ages of 14 to 25 are the most common victims. The motives are obsession, jealousy, suspected infidelity, failure to give dowry, husband wanting to re-marry, sexual non-cooperation, and enmity. The face is the most common target, but sometimes men also attack genitals.

Often graphic imagery in PSAs has been found to do little or nothing to solve the problem, most notably with drunk driving ads.

But sometimes — like with these brutal Irish child abuse awareness commercials— shocking people is the best way to stir action.

What’s their ploy? SEX, of course.

This latest commercial, via the UK, for the shoe that some people have eaten, apparently, is mildly amusing, but smacks of utter desperation.

My ad flamethrower stayed sheathed for the first 30 seconds. I was thinking 'OK, if this story has a well-thought-out, funny ending, it might actually be a winner.'

But then: sex with the hot saleswoman?

Give me a fucking break.

What a cliche.

And, it's a bit creepy.

Ad agency: in-house.

It’s a new project by London photographer Carl Warner, and it’s beautiful.

British photographer Carl Warner is most well known for his food photography — see his "Foodscapes" work here.

His new project is called Bodyscapes, which he describes as "an alternative portrait of a human being whose body becomes a landscape of themselves and plays on the sense of space in which we dwell."

I've seen this kind of work done in advertising, for instance, this fat-shaming mountain bike campaign via Switzerland from 2009.

But Warner's body work is on a different level. Take a look.

Via Australia.

Just Cremations started this amazing campaign late last year, with this naked old man on a log ad.

Well, now they've got a whole slew of crazy-ass ads out there, including the above warm, loving layout.

What do funeral home billboards usually look like? Like this depressing crap.

The headline "No fuss..." is perfect. Normally, I'd poo-poo the misused ellipsis at the end of a line, but with this campaign, it somehow works.

And, what else is there to say about death that hasn't already been said?

Nice logo, too.

You finally have a reason to be happy your Starbucks is full of hipsters.

The rules are easy!

1. Listen to the baristas call out names.

2. Since you are listening to the names, spelling (i.e. Lindsay vs. Lindsey) does not matter. This is obviously for the best since Starbucks baristas don't care about spelling names right.

3. First person to get a B-I-N-G-O wins.

4. You can pick whatever you want as the prize! (i.e. losers buy the winners their drink/a gift card.)

Amazing. Hilarious. Perfect. The girl in the commercial is a joy.

"I GOT MY PERIOD."

And with those words, Hello Flo just won Ad of the Year (so far).

What sets Hello Flo apart from other delivery options (besides the amazing spot) is that they're a subscription service that automatically ships your care package "when you want it with what you want," according to their website.

If you're an American woman, I don't have to tell you about the traditional hush-hush nature of this country's menstruation advertising, with all the never say the p-word, "blue liquid" commercials through the years.

Well, this sassy little girl just changed that flo.

The following words come out of her mouth:

• PERIOD

• RED

• GYNO

• MENSTRUATION

• VADGE!

• VAGINA!!!!!

Hello Flo isn't just for 12-year-old girls of course. But, if you get them loving your product/service early, and you're good at it, chances are better that you've got a customer for a long time.

Brilliant.
